Access

This article introduces how to use the Chat Mode in CodeBuddy IDE. If you don't need to directly modify code, you can use Chat Mode to fulfill your requirements.

Mode Switch

Before you start using Chat Mode, make sure you are in Chat Mode. You can manually switch to it.

Direct Technical Conversation

You can directly engage in technical conversations without adding any context. This is suitable for asking more general questions, such as:

Adding Context

Adding Code Blocks as Context

In the code editing area, you can directly select code blocks or regions as context, then engage in technical conversations in the input box.

If you need to add multiple code blocks or regions, you can right-click and use Add to Chat from the menu options to add them.

Adding Files or Directories as Context

In addition to selecting code blocks or regions, you can also right-click on files or directories in the left directory tree and select Add to Chat to add them to the context.

@ Context

CodeBuddy IDE supports adding conversation context using the @ symbol, including Rules, File & Folder, Git, Terminal, Docs. For detailed usage, refer to the context documentation.

Tool

CodeBuddy IDE also supports quickly invoking tools for conversation. You can choose to use tools like Add from Figma and Add more libraries to quickly engage in conversation. For detailed usage, refer to the Quick Action Tool documentation.

Boost Prompt

CodeBuddy IDE supports the Boost Prompt feature, which helps optimize the accuracy of your natural language commands, allowing the AI to better understand your intentions.

If you're not satisfied, you can manually edit it until you're satisfied, or you can choose Revert to original text.
